CNS Burma Dialogues

In 2021, the Convening Council of CNS determined that CNS could help facilitate dialogue among various ethnic groups in Burma (Myanmar). Starting in 2021, different groups have joined the Burma Dialogues, a monthly meeting which takes place to discuss the situation evolving in Burma since the 2021 coup by the Myanmar military. The culmination of the monthly meetings led to Burma Summit I which focused broadly on economic, justice, and security issues. Three statements were adopted by the groups who attended and have been adopted by other groups since Summit I.

Burma Summit I (Economic-Statement 1)
Burma Summit I (Security- Statement 2)
Burma Summit 1 ( Justice-Statement 3)
Widows in Burma (Burma Dialogue)
Burma Summit II is scheduled to take place in 2023 and will focus on three different issues. If you are a member of an ethnic group in Burma and would like to participate in the Burma Dialogues group, please contact the Chair, Dr. Habib Ullah, CNS Convening Council Member.
